I have always been that guy that will walk into a party or gathering and play with the dog in the corner of the room while the humans were socializing. While I do love people, I’ve always felt a little more relaxed with animals. That being said, I’m not a shy doctor and I am not afraid to speak my mind regarding the best approach to healthcare for my patients.
I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in Trinidad at the University of the West Indies School of Veterinary Medicine in August, 2013 and started practicing throughout various Veterinary establishments throughout the country while also pursuing Veterinary licensure for North America. Once this was obtained then I’d felt that it was time to close off my story in Trinidad and start a new chapter in Canada so I made the big move a couple years after.
All of these years working as a veterinarian in both the Caribbean and Canada has taught me that while specific disease conditions may vary slightly across the regions, the core mechanics of diagnosing them remain roughly the same. A thorough diagnostic method with appropriate follow up has always been the cornerstone of how I’ve practiced veterinary medicine and it has always served me well throughout my medical adventures.
I’m very excited to work at Upper Canada Animal Hospital. Their entire team embodies the calm personable atmosphere that I feel like anyone would desire from their furry companion’s doctors, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that.
Currently my partner and I live with our two dogs (Angel and Burrito) in St. Catharines. We are relatively new to the area but are thoroughly enjoying it!
