When I look back over my life I am overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude. I have been blessed with wonderful family and friends, being born a Canadian, and having a career that has been extremely fulfilling. My staff, clients, and the pets that I have met over the years have left an indelible mark on who I am, as both a Veterinary professional and as a person.  For those relationships I am eternally grateful and to those individuals, who have taught me so much, I bow my head in humble recognition and thanks.

I was born in Niagara Falls, grew up in Jordan and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992. While studying at OVC i met the love of my life, Dr Elizabeth McGill, whom I married during my graduating year. “Liz” and I have had the good fortune of raising two wonderful children, Edith and Forest,  who have recently left us as empty nesters so as to pursue their own dreams. Edith is currently enrolled in Veterinary College while Forest is on course to become a Conservation Officer. We could not be any prouder of our children.

Over the years our family has always included a myriad of pets including turtles, lizards, snakes, gerbils, degus, chickens, turkeys, cats and dogs. We are currently raising an adorable yellow lab puppy, Jake, who keeps us on our toes. Pets have always played a key role in our lives as they have been a constant source of joy and unconditional love. Some of my greatest life lessons I have learnt from our family pets : Don’t be judgemental, be kind, be happy, enjoy the smaller things in life, live in the moment, and of course- it’s OK to lick your plate clean if something is very tasty (no matters who’s watching).

While I have been practicing veterinary medicine for approximately 30 years I am looking forward to many more years of helping pets and their owners share fulfilling, love filled lives. It is an honor to be a part of such a great profession.
