I developed a love for animals from an early age and spent countless hours as a shadow in multiple veterinary clinics. In 1999 I decided to go back to my family’s homeland of Ireland and graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin in 2004 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 and a Master of Science degree in 1999 from McMaster University.

My career began in upstate New York where I was able to explore multiple facets of small animal practice before moving back home to the Niagara region in 2012. My favorite aspects of veterinary medicine include surgery, preventive medicine and client education. I have completed instructional courses in various subjects including cruciate ligament repair, soft tissue repair and dental surgery, each of which I thoroughly enjoy. Keeping up with the latest trends in medicine and surgery is also important and I strive to ensure to attend at least one major convention and several local educational meetings annually.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, 2 daughters, our 4 cats (Sweet Swan Kitty, Sweet Cotton Candy, Puffy, Carolina) and our Labrador retriever Chandler. You may guess that some of my animals were named by the kids. We enjoy home renovating but when we are not home we like traveling and spending time in the outdoors while camping, kayaking, bicycling, and hiking. I am a die hard Toronto Blue Jays fan since their inception.
